Coimbatore : "Even after the media exposed the video footage of how young school and college girls were harassed, sexually abused and blackmailed by a gang of men in Pollachi, the State government is completely passive and detached about the whole issue," alleged M K Stalin, the President of DMK.
"Apart from the four accused who have been arrested, there is an untapped network of offenders involved in this case, hiding behind the ruling party. Shockingly, the incident has jolted the entire State except the ruling AIADMK government," opined the DMK President.
He slammed the State government highlighting that from Chennai to Pollachi, the State had recorded the highest number of sexual abuse cases against women which is an evidence of the inept AIADMK government. Stalin also cited the protests held by DMK, social activists and the Madhar Sangam urging swift action in the case. "If probed earnestly, a huge network of offenders could be brought behind the bars," opined Stalin. He added that while handling the case, utmost discretion should be observed to refrain from disclosing the whereabouts of the young women involved in the case.
